Syra was born in Caster and raised to love the sea. Her passion for it was encouraged by her father and mother, who spent many summers walking the dock and working with sailors and seamen. When she was old enough, she got a job working on the dock selling fish. It was what she was doing up until the point her father was killed. With her mother having passed a handful of summers prior, she was left alone, save for the box her father left her. In it, the Demon Killer lay, the most wanted blade in history, and one of the three relics made by Henry Junok during his reign. With possession of this, her life was upended and she fled the city, wanted and declared a traitor.
Despite her mundane upbringing, Syra is the daughter of Nala, the sister of Shevana, leader of the Soul Realm. Nala fled, desiring a quiet life, and hid her identity from the living realm. Syra is the heir to the Soul Realm, and the only one capable of restoring the realm to its once vibrant and healthy self. She is a part of a prophecy foretold to the Guardians of Death centuries prior that, if fulfilled, promises the longevity of the realms. Failure on Syra's part will result in the destruction of all realms. Time is not on her side.
Syra's destiny is not kind. She is born to be good, but the world continues to suffocate that. Those she has learned to trust are both enemies and allies, while some, like Sekar, may become her greatest asset. But only if Destiny permits. The rest of the Vore Gods believe she could be the end of them all, but Sekar is determined to believe she can save them and restore the Soul Realm. The complex relationship the Gods have with Chaos makes it difficult to discern loyalties. Syra's rocky and, at times, volatile relationship with Sekar may be the only thing that can keep her alive.
Following the events at the Nighthunter Federation, Syra was forced into her destiny as a Vore God, with Sekar accelerating her path by abduction. Their paths, no matter how unstable and extreme, will always cross. With her bloodline, her gift from Chaos is Rebirth. She is the Goddess of the Dead, and can resurrect souls that still wander the Soul Realm, which has never been seen before. For Syra to fulfill her destiny and save the realms, it may cost her the lives of those she loves the most.
Favorite Things: Long walks on the coast, watching thunderstorms, fruit, and companionship and friendship.
Least Favorite Things: Being alone, stale bread, not being given answers, and not sleeping.
